Data Protection & Information Policies
A web accessibility statement is an information page on your website that clearly states the level of web accessibility to which the website aims to conform.
A Data Protection Policy explains how the Parish Council collects, stores, uses and protects personal information in accordance with data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. It also outlines the responsibilities of the Council when handling personal data and the rights of individuals in relation to their information.
A Subject Access Request Policy explains how individuals can request access to personal information held about them by the Parish Council. It outlines the process for making a request, how the Council will respond, applicable timescales and any exemptions under data protection legislation.
A Freedom of Information Policy explains how members of the public can request access to information held by the Parish Council under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, including how requests are handled, timescales for responses and any applicable exemptions
A Retention and Disposal Policy sets out how long the Parish Council retains documents and records, and the procedures for securely disposing of information when it is no longer required, in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements
An IT Policy outlines the rules and procedures for the safe and appropriate use of the Parish Council’s information technology systems, including data security, email use, passwords, remote working and protection against cyber risks

A risk assessment identifies possible hazards, evaluates the likelihood of harm, and sets out actions to reduce or manage risks. It helps ensure that parish council activities, assets, and events are carried out safely and responsibly for the benefit of the community.
Council Policies
A Complaints Policy sets out the procedure for making a complaint about the administration or procedures of the Parish Council. It explains how complaints will be handled, investigated and responded to, including timescales and the stages of the process.
A Declaration of Interests Policy outlines the requirement for Councillors to declare any personal, financial or other interests relating to matters being considered by the Parish Council, in order to ensure openness, transparency and compliance with the Council’s Code of Conduct.
A Representatives to Outside Bodies Policy sets out the arrangements for appointing Councillors to represent the Parish Council on external organisations or groups, including their role, responsibilities and reporting arrangements back to the Council.
A Biodiversity Policy and Action Plan outlines the Parish Council’s commitment to conserving and enhancing biodiversity within the parish, including actions and objectives to protect local habitats, wildlife and the natural environment in accordance with relevant legislation and guidance.
