Litter in and around Stonesfield, including roadside verges on routes into and out of the village, has increased again. The Parish Council is keen to support residents who wish to help keep the village clean and welcoming.

To make this easier, 15 litter pickers and bags are available for residents to borrow. These have been provided by the Parish Council and can be used at any time for informal litter picking while out walking.

The Parish Council would like to thank Jess Huband for organising the village litter-picking scheme and for the ongoing care and management of the equipment.

Residents are reminded to take appropriate safety precautions, particularly when litter picking near roads. High-visibility clothing should be worn where necessary, and larger or potentially unsafe items should not be handled but reported to the relevant authority via FixMyStreet.

As the village no longer has a recycling facility, any litter collected must be sorted and disposed of using household bins.

The Parish Council is grateful to everyone who contributes to keeping Stonesfield tidy – even small actions help make a noticeable difference.
